Perroly’s 7 automation triggers, explained in the interface
Every Perroly automation starts from a trigger: the precise event that sets it off. There are 7 of them, all available for Instagram and Facebook , gathered in the same menu when creating a rule.
The 7 triggers at a glance
Here are the 7 available events, as they appear in the rule creation menu.
The 7 triggers, at a glance
Welcome, away and message keyword
The welcome message fires at the very start of a conversation. The away message fires when the team is unavailable. The message keyword replies automatically as soon as a DM contains a specific word, useful for frequently asked questions.
Comment, story and ad referral
The comment keyword is the comment-to-DM technique: someone comments with a keyword, a private message goes out automatically. Story mention and story reply react when the account is tagged or a story gets a reply. Ad referral identifies messages coming from a Meta ad, to adapt the reply to that context.

Frequently asked questions
Can I activate several triggers at once?
Yes, each trigger works independently, nothing stops you from activating several at the same time.
Can a trigger launch a full scenario instead of a simple message?
Yes, each trigger can either send a simple message or start a Flow built in the Flow Builder.
Do these automations work on LinkedIn or TikTok?
No, messaging automations are only available for Instagram and Facebook.
Does the "ad referral" trigger work without a Meta ad account connected to Perroly?
Yes. It detects messages coming from a Meta ad already running elsewhere; it does not depend on Perroly’s upcoming Ads module, which is not available yet.
What happens if two triggers could apply to the same message?
Perroly applies the most specific trigger for the situation, a keyword rather than the generic welcome message for instance, rather than firing several at once.
Can a keyword be limited to specific posts or stories?
Yes, a rule can be restricted to one particular post or story instead of applying across the whole account.
